Obama and Such

Obama's recovery plan seen lifting stocks in 2009

From its October 2007 record, it has fallen about 42 percent, but from the recent bear market low of November 20 it has gained approximately 21 percent, thanks in part to huge planned government spending for early next year.

We are still going to be in a bad situation. But Obamas plan will help. It is putting confidence back into our economy keeping the money in the system.

This will be the first annual loss in six years.
Hopefully the effectiveness of the bailout is not questioned.

Canada

Canada has now lowered its rates by 3 full percentage points since December 2007.

The Bank of Canada unexpectedly cut its key interest rate on Tuesday by three-quarters of a percentage point to a 50-year low of 1.50 percent and declared the Canadian economy to be in a recession.

It looks like the economy problem is hitting the world at full effect.

Russian Skinheads

Seven members of a Russian skinhead gang have been convicted in a string of racially motivated slayings and attacks.

They were the age range from 15-18 They killed 20 migrant workers

The suspects formed an organized group for killing natives of Asian and Caucasian republics of the former Soviet Union under the influence of ideas of the exclusiveness of ethnic Russians spread by various illegal youth organizations," the prosecution said.

Climate

Remeber when Al Gore made that movie, and everyone got real cought up on Global warming and Climate change! It seemed to be the most important topic of them all when it came to politics and new lifestyle. But that soon dissapeared with the terrible economy rapidly changing for the worse, and the realization that we are still in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Well, that idea came back soon.
And it came from a country that well, we are in a large dept too.
According to Bloomberg.com
China, India Want More Commitment From Obama on Climate Change

Obama’s position on climate change is still “something positive” compared with the stance of President George W. Bush, Su said. Bush, who never endorsed the existing climate protection treaty, the Kyoto Protocol, set a goal on April 16 for the U.S. to stop the growth of greenhouse gas emissions by 2025.

Hospital stay ends for Barbara Bush

Former first lady Barbara Bush was discharged from The Methodist Hospital on Tuesday, a little less than a week after undergoing surgery to repair a perforated ulcer that her husband characterized as causing "extraordinary agony."

She is 83 years old and suprisingly is in great condition!
"Barb's feeling much, much better," Bush said. "I'll be glad to get her home."

Bush has had two hip replacement surgeries and back surgery and has battled arthritis.

3rd party Decline or Rise

As we have seen, in the past election the same two parties were the same two parties everyone knew they would be.
Democratic and Republican
But what about the others?
The libertarians?
The Communists?
Did they decline? Or is it there time now?

I think we will see the third parties start to rise during the 2008-2012 term.

Many Republicans will realize that Obama will appear to rule fairly conservative and be happy with their views on politics, and the two party system. Since a republican party is not in office, they will not re-judge their own party, and therefore will not fade away from their original beliefs.

Obama is not the far left democratic that many people saw him to be. Instead he is a conservative leader looking for change, but doing the minimum. Most of the democrats and individuals will start to fade away from Obama and the democratic party.
Millions of people will not get the help they were promised, there will not be as many lend-outs as Obama said there would be.
Hopefully this will bring another party into question, because the past 8 years of leadership was not effective. If the next 4 years is waste, then we need to realize that there needs to be a new party, new ideas, New LAWS and real change, not just the promise of change.

Moving

I have decided I want to move out of the country as soon as possible.

I was raised overseas for some time, and My brother was born in Hong Kong
My sister has moved out of the United States already and I doubt she will ever return to live here.

I too want to leave the country However I do not know what I want to do, and where I want to go.

Ideally I would like to do business and just travel around the world. However I doubt that will just happen.
I think I have decided that for A SHORT time, I am going to teach english abroad.
If given the chance I would take a job to leave this country really fast.

There are some places that I would love to live, and travel to.

Mainly, eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.
I want to go teach english in Ukraine, Poland and Estonia!
Those are not common places for an English Teacher.
Mostly everyone who lives there speaks more languages that I even know how to say Hello in.

Which is why I also want to move to South East Asia.
English is a common language in South East Asia and there are countless places I would love to live.
Whether I go to Hong Kong, or the rural island of Indonesia I do not care
I just want to leave!

No more tourism for Thailand

With the protests going on, in the airports in thailand
thousands of tourists can no longer enter- or exit the country.

Anyone who had a planned trip there by commercial airlines is stuck in the airport, waiting for the non existing flights.
As well and anyone who is trying to leave the airport.
Usually thousands come to the Kingdom to visit the country- but that will quickly change.

"I'm afraid the image of stability and security, especially in terms of travellers and the overall political climate, will be negative for some time to come," said international relations specialist Panitan Wattanayagorn.

The most immediate impact will be on tourism, with 30,000 travellers estimated to be prevented from flying out every day and countries around the world urging citizens to stay away from Thailand.

This will be devastating for a country where tourism revenue accounts for six percent of gross domestic product. Last year 14.8 million tourists visited the kingdom.

A state industry body has said Thailand is losing seven million dollars a day in tourism revenue, while Ammara estimated tourist numbers could drop by 3.5 million from projected numbers if turmoil lasts through to December.

Thanksgiving

Hope you had a great thanksgiving and great holiday weekend

-what I want to talk about is the deaths that happened on black friday
I hope that they rest in peace and the families are comforted by everyones prayers

Jdimytai Damour, a employe for walmart past away on friday.

He was trampled when waiting to open the door for thousands of customers waiting outside, the door was forced open a few minutes early and shortly Mr. Damour soon was trampled to death.

One man is saying --Every identifiable shopper on the surveillance cameras who ran through those doors at 4:55 a.m. should be charged as an accessory to murder, arrested, booked, and scheduled for trial... on Friday, November 27, 2009. Hold the trial at Shea Stadium, require every defendant to check in by 5 a.m. Require each one testify publicly, on the Jumbotron, just what consumer product was so important that they had to kill a man to get it. No one leaves until every defendant has testified. Then dismiss the charges. We probably cannot gather sufficient evidence to establish the direct culpability of any one person, and our legal system isn't built to punish crowds. This public shaming and the denial of their precious shopping privileges next Black Friday is perhaps the best we can manage.
What happened was terrible and is another thing Walmart needs to deal with.

Homeless

I am doing a project on the homeless
and I am not sure what stance to take.
Do I support their habit?
Do I propose to kick them off the street?
To I ignore the issue
Do I follow the Christian stance?
OR
The Liberal stance?

I need some help.

I remember once my Dad and I were having a conversation and he was telling me they found a homeless man dead on the street, after tracing his life and finding out who he was, they found bank accounts with Millions of dollars and realized he lost his mind and just walked the streets.
Another Crazy man comes to our Church every Sunday, wearing a old Suit. He lives at the Homeless Shelter and is from wealthy family up North. However he likes to be Homeless.

We need more family based homeless shelters.
You should only be at the homeless Shelter for certain time
You do not want homeless on the street, Drunks on the street could be bad for your health. Keeping the place clean and safe.

Tell them there is a church instead giving them Money.

At our saints, family slept on small room in back of church
twice a year
Coalition for the Homeless

666-or god

I have been hating God for a while now
claiming I do not believe in him,
but I can not clear his name.
I still feel bad saying hatred
and yesterday my friend said "he felt like he was doing something wrong"
with a slight giggle when we blasted the Christian Chanel.
Will a tattoo of 666 solve all my problems?

I need to know.
I have to wait for the Big Bang theory to be proven, or unproven.
Will the believers change their way of life?
Or will they still help, but with no belief?

Sweet Music

Music
is
a
form
of
expression
Just
as writing
But to me
it is
more enjoyable
to listen
then to read
which
is why I think
everything written
should be sung to a beat
of any choice
therefore you can get two in one.
Also, there would be no more terrible lyrics

Politics to outsiders

I was on the beach the other day, at a house with several people and was having a great time. I was having a conversation with a few guys, while listening to music and cooling the beer from a warm keg. They were Bermudian, and were all members of the band HomeGrown. They were asked a question about what they think about the new Rise of Power in America. The lead singer put up his thumb very fast, and seemed very excited Obama was in power. The others simply replied, I'm from the UK, It doesn't really matter. In a previous conversation with Jared, my friend from Tampa. We were talking about different news stations. He said that BBC's headline to the Election was, World Leaders pleased with new U.S elected President. We don't get that news hear. But it is nice to know others are as happy as most in the United States.

Cold

A big cold front came through the other day, and as I walked outside this morning to go get something to eat, just after the sun rose I remembered how much I hate the cold. But, the best thing about the cold is like it is a completely new change on scenery. It makes me feel like I am back up in New England, however in this weather I would be wearing no shirt, because I would of thought it was so dam hot outside.
I have to rethink my hatred for the cold weather. Maybe global warming will make Florida have seasons...... Maybe

VOTING

THE TIME HAS COME EVERYONE!!!
Right now all the Presidential Candidates are bashing each other and trying to make themselves look better. As an individual don't listen to any of the talk the Candidates have to say right now. Remember what you know about the candidates and go out there and vote. Remember to Vote for ANYONE YOU WANT.

DONT VOTE FOR THE LESSER EVIL ONE
WRITE IT IN!

I can not describe the feelings I have towards anyone who does not vote, or thinks that Voting for someone who is not going to win is a waste of a vote. OR IS taking votes away from someone.
JOHN MC C is no Better then Obama. Both are going to look like the worst President in History thanks to big man George Bush.
Just remember that your opinion counts. Together we can fight for a New United States, one that our ancestors fought for and our other ancestors ruined. We were betrayed by the Generation above us. It is our time. We need to stand up and fight against this evil government.

Vote

When most people hear that I am a libertarian, and am going to vote for Bob Barr they are confused. They tell me that it is a wasted vote, or just don't know what I am talking about. I just usual do not feel like argueing and consider them ignorant.
But the truth is, my vote is a protest. It would be the true form of anarchy if I did not vote, But I feel that this country needs everyone to vote in this election. My vote is a protest of John McCain's spending plan. My vote is a protest of how bad George Bush did in the office, My vote is a protest of how I do not stand for Obama's tax plan. My vote shows how I do not just follow the the mass crowds and media following these two canidates. We can vote for who ever we want to.

If you want your vote to count, and you want a real change

Vote Libertarian and make a difference.

STOP THE CENSORSHIP

We need to stop the censorship. I believe in the right of freedom of speech, right of the press

And the right of individuals to dissent from the government itself!

We need to stop the internet censorship, the media censorship, we need to be able to express our feelings.

Inflation

I believe that the next person in office is going to increase liquidity and therefore increase inflation. Which will royally fuck us in the ass even more.

There has not been one mention of the solution which is eliminating the Federal Reserve system. END THE FED and go to the Gold Standard!!!

Congress passed the $700 billion Wall Street bailout on Friday, supported by both Senators John McCain and Barack Obama. The U.S. stock market promptly dropped. Over the weekend the financial crisis threatened European banks, and stock prices across Asia and Europe tanked.
Companies now will run to the Treasury Department before taking tough steps to clean up their own balance sheets. After the automakers joined insurer AIG and investment bank Bear Stearns in winning their own federal bailouts, what company will not expect a handout from the taxpayer?

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANY OF IT, I am JUST GOING TO START A BUSINESS AND RUN IT INTO THE GROUND SO I CAN RECEIVE A BAILOUT, BUT WAIT IF WE GET THIS SOCIALIST AS OUR PRESIDENT I WILL HAVE NO MOTIVATION AT ALL TO EVEN WORK. I can JUST LIVE OFF OF OTHER TAXPAYERS MONEY WHO ARE WORKING HARD TO KEEP EVERYONE ELSE LIVING WELL. IT DOES NOT MOTIVATE ME AT ALL!!!!!!!!

G.......WAR?

This was a crazy time..

I did not know what to think about when I saw this show, but it was crazy.. It was one of the weirdest things I ever saw. But I loved it at the same time. It was something new, a vision of fantasia. When I first saw the man, I knew there was something wrong with him, He was running from something, with a confused look on his face. Once I saw the axe I knew he was going to be dead, his head was chopped off and blood running up his spine shot into the population. A wave of humans ran towards to be covered in blood. I loved it, the anger and fear ran across everyone. Everyone was pushing, demolishing the innocent viewers. We knew these were the true illusionists.

A few minutes later John McCain was on stage, soon to fall down with a quick heart attack, and then stabbed in the heart, torn into two pieces and decapitated. Blood from his body was spread. Hillary Clinton tried to run. But sooner or later she knew she was doomed. When I thought she was going to be raped and killed, her breasts were ripped off, fondled and covered her body in blood. Obama was already in custody, he couldn't run, He did not even put up a fight. Torn apart by two others, he was placed on a stake, legs on one side, torso and head on the other. The chainsaw cut many, shooting blood in all directions with the whirling sound of a chainsaw haunting the back of my mind.

By the end I had blood all over my face and a small grin as I looked into the darkness of the night. The crowd fed off of the rape, murder, and blood. I walked out of the gates, into civilization, I knew I was safe now.

Who Do the people like for VP ?

So I was wondering how the VP decision came around. To tell you the truth I have heard allot of Republicans feel disrespected with their decision. I also know that Biden is not the strongest candidate out there, I rather would of had Hillary as the VP.

I am going to do some asking in the next couple of days to see whose who.

Bailouts

So even after McCain and Obama were pushing for the 700 billion dollar bailout
CONGRESMAN Barr and other voted against it with a 228 to 295 victory. This is great news however they are trying to push for it again.

STEM CELL RESEARCH

This is a article on McCain's idea about stem cell research

Stem cell research offers tremendous hope for those suffering from a variety of deadly diseases - hope for both cures and life-extending treatments. However, the compassion to relieve suffering and to cure deadly disease cannot erode moral and ethical principles.

For this reason, John McCain opposes the intentional creation of human embryos for research purposes. To that end, Senator McCain voted to ban the practice of "fetal farming," making it a federal crime for researchers to use cells or fetal tissue from an embryo created for research purposes. Furthermore, he voted to ban attempts to use or obtain human cells gestated in animals. Finally, John McCain strongly opposes human cloning and voted to ban the practice, and any related experimentation, under federal law.

As president, John McCain will strongly support funding for promising research programs, including amniotic fluid and adult stem cell research and other types of scientific study that do not involve the use of human embryos.

Where federal funds are used for stem cell research, Senator McCain believes clear lines should be drawn that reflect a refusal to sacrifice moral values and ethical principles for the sake of scientific progress, and that any such research should be subject to strict federal guidelines.

Senator McCain does not believe in Embryo cell research and wants to get rid of it completely. Scientists can not use embryos, but are aloud to study amniotic fluid and adult stem cells. McCain does not want to give it federal funding for scientific research.

I wonder what diseases can only be fixed with embryos so far. Obviously this stance was going to be taken, they are PRO-LIFE.

Off McCain's website

John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.

However, the reversal of Roe v. Wade represents only one step in the long path toward ending abortion. Once the question is returned to the states, the fight for life will be one of courage and compassion - the courage of a pregnant mother to bring her child into the world and the compassion of civil society to meet her needs and those of her newborn baby. The pro-life movement has done tremendous work in building and reinforcing the infrastructure of civil society by strengthening faith-based, community, and neighborhood organizations that provide critical services to pregnant mothers in need. This work must continue and government must find new ways to empower and strengthen these armies of compassion. These important groups can help build the consensus necessary to end abortion at the state level. As John McCain has publicly noted, "At its core, abortion is a human tragedy. To effect meaningful change, we must engage the debate at a human level."

So it is obvious about McCain's stand on abortions. He wants to get rid of ROE V.S WADE , and have the decision be up to the states. McCain wants to end abortion , and create a great civil society that is strong believers in Faith. His way of countering all the problems with never allowing abortion is to continue to have organizations that provide critical services to pregnant mothers in need.

OBAMA TAX PLAN

Taxes suck
everyone knows that
here is his proposal

income tax rate 39.6 %
income payroll 52.2 %
capital gains 28 %
dividends 39.6 %
Estate Tax 55%

Everyone one of those is higher then what we currently have.

Next, I found out he thinks the problem with the economy revenue is the Housing crisis.

9/11/08

Today I woke up, acted like it was any other day. I was a little tired, and slowly got in the shower and ate a quick breakfast before walking to class. Once I sat down in class a classmate told me what the date was. I had no idea, today 7 years ago, we were attacked by terrorists, who flew planes into the trade center, the pentagon and on crashed in Virginia, on it's way to the white house. Today, Americans are reminded about how our freedom is challenged by many around the world. Today, we must be pride to the Americans who died, the Americans who are now serving in Iraq, and other countries in the middle East. Today we must be proud to be Americans together as one. I am happy to be an American today.

Sep. 10: A short test of the "Tribute in Light" illuminates the sky over the World Trade Center site in New York.

Ron Paul got asked,

Yesterday, Bob Barr asked Ron Paul to be his vice president. This is GREAT NEWS! I think Ron Paul is a genious. He will bring many votes to the libertarian party. I hope he accepts. Today I told Bob that this is a great idea, I did not like Root anyways.

Here is the Official story

Asks Paul to Run as his Vice President
Atlanta, GA – Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party nominee for president, has invited GOP Congressman Ron Paul to be his running mate in the upcoming election. In a letter sent to Paul, Barr called Paul one of the “few American patriots” who exist in today’s society, and asked him to “seriously consider this final offer as an opportunity to show true, lasting leadership beyond party politics.”
Barr cited Paul’s 1987 letter to then-GOP Chairman Frank Fahrenkopf, in which Paul stated that, “after years of trying to work through the Republican Party both in and out of government…[Paul] concluded that [his] efforts must be carried on outside the Republican Party.”
Though recognizing Paul’s personal investment in the Republican Party and his recent attempts to reform the party from inside, Barr said he disagreed with Paul’s strategy. “Better options remain that will carry a message of liberty onto the ballot in November and beyond,” Barr stated, adding at a news conference called today at the National Press Club, that “change in politics and public policy in America cannot and will not be done from within the current, two-party system.”
Barr continued, “‘The status quo will not change the status quo’ and impact comes entirely from gaining votes in the General Election.” That is why Barr said he would remain focused on the Libertarian Party’s electoral effort and clear message, and why he invited Paul to join him.
“While you declined my offer to seek the Libertarian presidential nomination many months ago, I ask that you seriously consider this final offer as an opportunity to show true, lasting leadership beyond party politics,” Barr stated in his letter to Paul.
Barr’s running mate, Wayne Allyn Root, expressed support: “As the Libertarian Party vice presidential nominee, I believe in one thing above all else—principle. There can be no compromise on the ideals of limited government, lower taxes, lower spending, and more freedom for the American people. Those are the principles to which I’ve dedicated my life. The GOP and Democratic candidates only give lip service—at best—to these ideals and principles. It is only an act at election time every four years.”
“I want to end the charade once and for all,” Root continued. “I am willing to sacrifice anything to advance the cause of liberty, freedom, smaller government and to enable the American taxpayer to keep more of their own money and property. Understanding Dr. Ron Paul’s reputation and name recognition in the freedom movement, I am willing to step aside as Libertarian vice presidential candidate if he would be willing to take my place. I will pledge to work day and night, just as I have as the vice presidential nominee, to support Dr. Paul. I believe this is a wonderful opportunity for the Libertarian and freedom movements. I encourage Dr. Paul to accept Congressman Barr’s offer. The campaign is making this offer because we believe there is no sacrifice too large when it comes to improving the lives of the American people and American taxpayers.”
Barr’s letter to Paul can be found here.
Paul’s letter to the GOP can be found here.
Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr represented the 7th District of Georgia in the U. S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003.

Exploratory writing and thinking

Exploratory writing and thinking are obviously almost one in the same, but when you think about my teachers quote " Perhaps you think about things in this way without using writing as a tool through which to process your ideas." You are able to understand the literal diffrence of the two. IF one person starts to think about a subject and starts to brainstorm in their mind, what is there to keep them from forgetting their original thoughts. I have a short term memory and if I am constantly thinking about new ideas and thinking more in depth about a topic, I will forget something. This used to happen to me all the time. When a teacher would assign me a great topic to write a essay and I had so many ideas, I would just think about all the things there are to write about and by the time I got to my room, after all my other classes, I would forget half of the ideas. That being said, I soon learned that I can write these ideas down and save all of my thoughts.

But is that exploratory writing? Is that just brainstorming? What defines the difference, after all I was not writing to explore, I was writing to save my ideas. But my ideas could be thought of the same way, If I took the steps in exploratory writing, I could of found the same ideas and maybe they could of been in more depth. Maybe they would be just the same thing...

more about the convention

ok I just want to say that

Huckabee is a really good speaker.

Republican National Convention

ok, So i turned on the convention at 9:00
I am watching it on MSNBC
I am not sure what they are talking about right now, it seems to be mid sentence.
The announcers are talking, and I can not hear one word what the speakers are talking about.
Which is bull$&*!, I do not need to hear the point of view of the media, that is what they want me to hear.

Someone just talked about the lack of experience that Obama has, and the experience that Palin has. Ok so since when has Alaska been important. She has to care about her minor population and OIL, please I am sure most educated puppets could be making executive positions in Alaska. We already learned from Ted Thompson about the corruption.

Now Mitt Romney is speaking, he is saying how Washington is Liberal.
HAHAHAH wow, OK the Bush Administration is real liberal.
All the conservatives do is attack the liberals,
What is there point, what are you going to do besides take away rights from the people.
Mitt Romney also has such a fake tan. He is orange, what a loser, he cares more about how he looks then the people themselves.

He just said, Its time for the party of big ideas, not big brother.
That makes sense, Obama is a little to socialist.

His ideas make sense in economics.

"lets keep Al Gores' private jet on the ground" Mitt Romney -- That is funny

Now he talks about internatinal affairs, this is what I hate
The republican ideals are so bad. I hate war, WAR IS EVIL. STOP THE VIOLENCE.

I do not want to talk anymore about Mitt.
We will wait for someone else.

THE mcGraw Guide

The first 3 chaptas

These short chapters were about writing in college. To give the reader an insight on what it will be like, and what types of writing you do. Writing as a professional is the most important to me, as I need to learn how to make sense of my words and learn how to make great papers explaining my opinion. The chapter then talks about the writing terms. The rhetorical, critical, and writing process. In chapter two it first talks about scanning before you read. One of my teachers in high school told me about this trick, and I have used it ever since. Whenever I don't understand the reading, even after rereading it millions of times, you must skim it and look for terms and ideas that you can understand. The chapters in this book just remind me of learning strategies for success in college. These terms Must be understood and no matter how old you are, you can always better your writing. This book explains how easy it is to improve. As long as you follow the steps, you can make them better.

FINAL READING !!!!!!

In the basement of the final tower!

This teacher starts to talk about how he works at a college. One is a community college and one is a small private college, he talks about how nice each one is with the Gothic tower looking things and how students sit under the trees on their cell phones or reading and doing other things. He wants to talk about a lot of intellectual readings like Shakespeare but he can not Because
All of the kids are in way over their head, they do not want to be in college they did not even try to go to college, SO When they decided that they needed to go to school they had to go to something like community college, it is a last resort.
He teaches Eng 101 and 102 which I am sure is just like our class, 1101 and 1002
Most of the kids he taught has not the best grades and nothing next to extra curricular activities, they chose school based on the location and simply just because they needed a few credits for a raise at work.

They do not look like they enjoy his class and it is because it is really hard for them. He fails 9 out of 15 students , For what! why does he doe this
"What actually happens is that nothing happens. I feel no pressure from the colleges in either direction. My department chairpersons, on those rare occasions when I see them, are friendly, even warm. They don’t mention all those students who have failed my courses, and I don’t bring them up."

I did not know what to think about when i first read this
Then I got to the part about the girl who he thinks never has written a college level paper, He thought he should of given her a C grade but that would not be fair to other students it would be loweing the standards. I think she should of got a C because that is average and she many others who would alos not be considered average, she tries to do her work and comes to class, she does not skip the things she has to do and paid for it.
This article confuses me but I do not think i have a problem and this does not have to do with me at this point I think I am able to do most of the college work and if I am not able to, I know I have enough non important things to not worry about and focus on academics more and try and get better grades.

Talk of the nation

This show was amazing coincidence that I listened to it. First off let me say that I am a libertarian, that is my party of choice. Mostly when I hear my mom listen to this radio station it is very
pro democratic
-Bob Barr the presidential candidate for the libertarian party talked about how he wants to get to the white house. This week McCain is leading the poles after Obama went to Europe. Starting off the story, Senator Stevens got indicted for some money laundering thing. He used allot of money to renovate his home, and no one knows how he got the money. What is known is that the money came from some business and obviously was not transfered properly. They also say that it was probably a bribe. I know he was the senator in Alaska.
They talk about the democratic party polls and Obama going to Germany and he got a crowd of 200,00 people. But eventually it got to the important things, mainly Bob Barr

if you want to CHECK OUT THE LIBERTARIANS

http://www.lp.org/

Back to Bob Barr,
He started to talk about how he started out.
He talks about the new libertarian group of people.
He believes in Small government and that is why he left congress as a republican. He is talking about how he was against many things that the new administration has administered, like privacy control and searching houses without a warrant. However it is weird because Bob Barr was a original voter of the patriot act, which I am strongly AGAINST, he claims that for the past 5 years he has been out of congress trying to work with small administrations on how to cut back several of the laws from the patriot act. He thinks the administration took it to far and made the privacy problem bad. The act was just in retaliation to the 9/11 acts and helping the people stay safe. Not total control. Bob says they went back on the insurances that they gave the congress men.
Craig's moral question :If you let the market decide and take care of things for example ENRON. they were caught and punished but not for what all of these people and their life savings, If these companies were regulated that would not happen and these people would of not lost their money.

bob : hE TALKS ABOUT HOW ONE CAN LOOK AT THE regulate sectors in our government business. Like the mortgage crisis we are going on right now. Libertarians do not believe in having the tax payers pay, or be on edge of paying for a mortgage, because those mortgages are regulated, the tax payers HAVE TO PAY THE losses so now you have BAD loses and risks that we will go in debt more because lack of tax payer money, Which is why in the free based economy you can use the LAW and courts to get people in or out of trouble when money is not regulated correctly. Right now the federal government does not do this in enough time and there fore it is not effective.

Then we get to what we disagree on in our party.
The new libertarians like Me are not as conservative as this asshole Bob Barr
He is pro life and wants to crack down and be conservative with drug laws and petty crimes.
I am not like that the new libertarians are for civil freedom, like Gay marriages, legal abortions, no punishment for petty drug crimes, decriminalization of marijuana. But that is why Libertarian party works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is against the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. It is against the country saying what you can or can not do. It is about the small government and making laws by your county or state. He says that it should be up to the people of the state and the federal government should not be able to override the what those people think. It is the state's choice or the county's choice.

Then he talks about the Federal government and getting rid of food stamps and welfare. Because he wants to give the money instead to private charities to help others, I believe that when it is local it is allot more effective, instead of spending tax money on foreign misadventure's and the bureaucracies. But if your community wants to have social services, then that area can have groups that have incentives to give money to social service agencies because your area pays taxes.

Ok I am done talking about the libertarian's VOTE NOW

LETTER

Dear Author,

First off, I think this is great news about the genome-wide map of the spinal cord. I feel like any study, even if it is on mice help us learn about the human body better. Now that we can understand how the spinal cord works, I am sure we can stop many diseases and learn how to fix vertebrae breaks. I love how all the scientists talked about how important this break through is to them. First I was wondering, Did you go to the press conference In washington D.C?
Next are you a scientist, Is this important to you? and When do you think the next breakthrough in science that has to do with the spinal cord will come>?

From,
Sean Ross

problem complaint in class writing

One problem that I have to complain about is the fact that we do not have a cafeteria in the school. I think that it would help everyone out, students who live on and off of campus. It would save me money, being able to buy a meal plan, and knowing where I could go eat. I would ask for the school to get someone to work in that small cafeteria that we have.

monday reading

This project Muse reading was about technology and youth today. We are currently subject to a lot of bad thing in the media, which lead to violence and drug use, smoking and not being in shape. However even if I am seeing all these things on the media, I know that violence is still wrong. It is still my own choice to do things, and it is not the radio station or televesion that controls me. Obesity, however could be easily marketed and could be eaten that day just because some hungry guy saw it on tv. However that is just part of the industry today. This article has been talked about all the time for the past 5 years but so far, nothing has happened to the amount of violence on tv, or in video games. I believe that the conservatives of this world see evil in too many things.
I like the story on the video games alot. It was very interesting to me because In the begiing of this year my friends and I used to play a super nintendo, and even with the very basic graphics and game play I still thought it was alot of fun. I think that the original games are very important, because they are a part of our culture, but also they can still be fun to play

SPINAL CORD UNDERSTANDING!

Scientists will today unveil the first genome-wide map of the spinal cord of the mouse, a move experts say will accelerate research - and point to potential treatments - in human spinal cord diseases.

The map, dubbed the Allen Spinal Cord Atlas, charts the genetic activity within the mouse spinal cord and will help researchers understand various diseases and disorders, including ALS, multiple sclerosis, paralysis and other spinal cord injuries.

Experts say it will shed light on how the spinal cord works, something scientists do not yet completely understand, and will likely lead to new therapies.

"It's the first time that somebody has explored the expression of particular genes within the spinal cord," said Christine Vande Velde, an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Montreal who focuses on the underpinnings of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

"Many people focus on the brain, but that's very different from the spinal cord," Vande Velde said.

"This (map) provides us with a new avenue to look at the type of genes unique to motor neurons and will provide targets for us to explore in the future."

The map, to be unveiled today at a press conference in Washington, D.C., was created at the Seattle-based Allen Institute for Brain Science, a non-profit research organization launched in 2003 by Paul Allen, a co-founder of Microsoft Corporation.

In 2006, the institute released a genome-wide, three-dimensional map of gene expression in the adult mouse brain.

Studying mice is the primary way researchers learn about spinal cord diseases.

That's why it was important to come up with a basic map of all the different genes, cells and pathways in the rodent's complete spinal cord, said Dr. Jane Roskams, the project's scientific advisor and associate professor of neuroscience at the Brain Research Centre at the University of British Columbia.

"Mice and rats are our main model for research," she said. "That's where potential therapies will first be developed."

Roskams, who will be part of the official launch today, said the map was more than 18 months in the making and cost roughly $3 million.

The baseline data generated from the map will be most valuable to new researchers in the field because it will provide them with a starting point for their investigations, something that would usually take months or years to develop.

"Their legwork will be decreased considerably by using this," she said.

"It's like a little (Global Positioning System) that tells you where you are in the spinal cord and where you need to go."

All of the data will be publicly available for free online, with the first set released by mid-July and the entire map by 2009.

Vande Velde, who plans to use the map immediately in her research, said the large-scale project could not be done by individual scientists or even universities.

"This is a giant undertaking," she said.

"It's not something the average academic lab can do. It's something really unique."

Nor-LANS

The prologues are great, I love the pictures, cartoon-like but very descriptive. All the angles are different and I think that the picture of the storm is the best. Everything is pretty accurate right down to the hand grenade in the bum's hand.
This story can connect to every type of reader. I mean every kid thinks of a hurricane as a a day off of school. Also every person does not want to leave a hurricane because they do always turn at the last minute. To many people work so hard, the lady should of just evacuated, or not gone to work at all. That way the guy could of saved all his comics.

The next thing that stood out to me was the dialogs. The way everyone speaks, and how it is spelled makes the reader connect again. Most the things said are something someone would say. Not proper English, and a lot of curse words.

Once the storm started to hit, the destruction in the pictures was very vivid. You could also see the fear in the person's face and the problems that ensued on them. Once the cat is injured and the bed where the lady slept is destroyed, I was pulled into the story. The ending is also very powerful and brings up a lot of theories about what happened.

I like Hamid's story the best. It was the most exciting although I think they should of got on the boat. I like how they talk about Jesuit to, a couple of my friends go there...

I thought the novel was very good and powerful, I hope there is more to the story and a ending to what happened to everyone else, besides Miss Williams.

Persepolis

First off, I do not know much about the middle east right now as it is, and to learn about Iran in the 1980's was a very interesting reading for me. I also like how it is not from a historic perspective but rather a personal one. Even though the reading talks about how a child's perspective is simple, and how not only one perspective can fully represent trauma. I do not know the actual feelings one would have when going through such trauma and problems as a young girl did while living in Iran, and I did not read the story to understand her true feeling. I did not get many of the arguments made in this story.

The best part about the reading;s was the pictures, although they are really simple, I think the stories could be better understood while looking at the pictures. My favorite picture was the one where all the girls are looking straight ahead wearing veils. The picture then names all the girls, even though they all look identical, wearing the veil with black hair, white face and the really simple drawing of a mouth and eyes. I think that was the purpose though. Many of the pictures capture the important parts in her life, when she was a child. Today, I doubt she is happy about remembering her first cigarette, but when she was a child, she valued that day. I do not think it was actual the day she matured into a adult. But the picture shows how important this time in her life was, as a young child.

Furthermore, this short story gives the reader a little insight on the oppression of women. I wonder what the writer thinks of oppression in the world today, especially in places like China, and Latin America.

Was this originally written in English?

The 2nd reading stuff

PrOJect MUSE

After reading everything for this week, I did not agree with Frank Mathis, I do not believe that you can really judge a memoir. All memoirs are good in their own way. Many of the personal stories that I read help me understand people better. Like all the stories of the students from New Orleans. Those ones teach lessons. The other style I saw was the FSU memoirs, they were very different in telling life stories.

Narratives from students at the center, That does not sound to interesting at all, until I sat down today and started to read the short stories without getting up once. In the Journey to a memory the strong metaphors and tragic mood creates a powerful story about everything being gone. These authors all have stories about moving on, and it is easy to see why they would do that. The lifestyle in New Orleans is hard and sad, and it is a long uphill climb for many of these people.

Maria Hernandez already had a hard time before the storm, she was trying to survive and help her school improve. When the school finally has some success, the storm comes. She goes through lots of horrific ordeals and the problems keep on building up. She has a very sad, and hard life. She feels betrayed by the school board. But from all these problems we realize she is a strong girl who fights though everything even with all hope lost.

Another student Janay is scared of the unfamiliar and does not want to know what happened. She compares the destruction in her house to death. Eventually she found comfort in the familiarity and the only way for her and everyone else to move on is to try and survive. She knows she is helping New Orleans just by moving back there.
Seeing a adults perspective brings allot of thoughts about writing and students thoughts about tragedy. Students first showed lots of hatred to the storm for all the damage it has done. Students did not want to talk or write about it. But when students wrote about their already hard lives, they were able to bond together. Katrina brought a lot of problems and unfamiliarity. Many students did not know their classmates which created tension within the classroom. But instead of writing about Katrina and their memoirs they read about them so they could understand other people have problems to. It is always easy to read something you can relate to. The stories brought the students together because they could understand each other, they all had good and hard times. One of the lessons I learned is that being productive after some destruction in your life helps you. But the students needed to be motivated to be productive. The bored students created such a different atmosphere because of the test review they had to do. They were not trying in class and many failed the GEE test. Once the students were able to reindentify themselves by writing memoirs again, the productive atmosphere was created again.

Why is Melvin able to not be phased by the storm?
Maybe since his level of tragedy he could take was so high because his Dad got shot, everything else that happens is " under the bar" and does not affect him. There are lots of strong characteristics in humans around the world today. I would like to learn from these kids because I know I am not that strong and I do not know how many people are mentally strong enough to handle this. Would you want a tragedy like this to happen so you could become stronger because of it? and How do you plan on helping Katrina victims in the next year?

Nola Hurricane

The story we had to read and the personal story we listened to were both about finding one self. Jerry Waxler would try and find himself through writing. He felt like he could understand the things that go on in his brain. With all the problems people have the only way to express your thoughts is to use some sort of speech or writing.
When the hurricane survivors spoke about their problems, the girl who was about to cry talked about loosing someone. She was able to release her feelings. Through talking, she understands herself and others in a similar situation.

Does writing help you as much as talking does?

Talking about where she came from made OtherS understand her. Jerry found out who he was by writing down memoirs.
What does Jerry want to find out about himself?
Are tragedies such as the hurricanes in 2005 worth writing about and remembering?
