The prologues are great, I love the pictures, cartoon-like but very descriptive. All the angles are different and I think that the picture of the storm is the best. Everything is pretty accurate right down to the hand grenade in the bum's hand.
This story can connect to every type of reader. I mean every kid thinks of a hurricane as a a day off of school. Also every person does not want to leave a hurricane because they do always turn at the last minute. To many people work so hard, the lady should of just evacuated, or not gone to work at all. That way the guy could of saved all his comics.
The next thing that stood out to me was the dialogs. The way everyone speaks, and how it is spelled makes the reader connect again. Most the things said are something someone would say. Not proper English, and a lot of curse words.
Once the storm started to hit, the destruction in the pictures was very vivid. You could also see the fear in the person's face and the problems that ensued on them. Once the cat is injured and the bed where the lady slept is destroyed, I was pulled into the story. The ending is also very powerful and brings up a lot of theories about what happened.
I like Hamid's story the best. It was the most exciting although I think they should of got on the boat. I like how they talk about Jesuit to, a couple of my friends go there...
I thought the novel was very good and powerful, I hope there is more to the story and a ending to what happened to everyone else, besides Miss Williams.

Hey buddy! Just read another one of your blogs. We pretty much have the same opinion every time. We both agree strongly about the images in the graphic novel and feel even though they are cartoon like they show emotion of the people there. I also agree that it was very accurately put together. I also like how you mentioned that everyone can relate to it. Like when kids want days off from school, I know that’s what went through my mind when it struck us. I really liked how it went into detail about a few characters and showed what they lost because of the storm; it gave you a sense of empathy and showed the fear of the people of New Orleans.
HEY DUDE!! For some reason I just always seem to connect with your point of view on things. I thought the graphic novel on Katrina was done exceptionally well. The pictures and text were great. I also thought that it being a cartoon and all was still depicting and accurate. At first I saw how long it was and almost just gave up, but it actually was very entertaining and in depth. I think that the cartoons weren't too simple and didn't take anything away from the victims or the storm itself. Showing this cartoon slideshow actually gave me a better picture and allowed me to really connect with the people that suffered from this huge storm. Watching and reading this gave me a better understanding and appreciation for graphic novels.
I felt the same way Alex about the length, at first I was like O no 12 pages for 12 chapters! But once I started reading I got drawn into the images very fast. I also agree with you T.J about the empathy that you feel when reading this novella. Also I am glad you both feel the same way about the cartoons, they are great and this was a great thing to read.
